About
In 1986, near Auburn, Kentucky, a three-way partnership was formed, 'Strickler's Stained Glass,' named for senior partner, Ellsworth Strickler. For 25 years, the shop operated in central Kentucky, with projects in surrounding states, concentrating mainly on church windows as well as completing countless residential projects. With Ellsworth's passing in 2006 and Joyce Britton's retirement in 2011, the partnership was closed.
Marvin Jarboe then began a solo operation, 'Jarboe Stained Glass,' offering all technologies and services provided by the previous company including stained glass window design, fabrication, installation, glass painting, glass fusing, lampshades, and screenprinting on glass.
Marvin has a B.F.A. degree from Western Kentucky University, where his area of concentration was printmaking. He has worked in commercial and fine art settings throughout his career, enabling him to apply design, printmaking, and painting skills in a unique way to the art of stained glass. He also does a small amount of illustration. A Breckenridge County, Kentucky native, he lives with his wife, Paula, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
